Artist Statement

In meiner künstlerischen Arbeit beschäftige ich mich vor allem mit Menschen, mit Beziehungen, Nähe und Distanz, sowohl räumlich als auch zeitlich. Dieser Dialog mit der Welt beinhaltet auch die Beziehung zu den Dingen und zu anderen Kreaturen. Die Malerei ist für mich eine Möglichkeit, vergangene Momente in die Gegenwart zu holen, den Augenblick körperlich festzuhalten und mit den Mitteln der Malerei weiterzuentwickeln. // In my artistic work, I am primarily concerned with people, with relationships, intimacy and distance, both spatial and temporal. This dialogue with the world also includes the relationship with things and with other creatures. Painting is a way for me to bring past moments into the present, to physically capture the moment and to develop it further with the means of painting.
